Sedgwick is the nation\'s largest TPA and needed an internal unit to manage Medicare compliance services and processes. I was hired to launch a small business inside of a big business and ensure that Sedgwick\'s thousands of colleagues were engaged in the intricacies of Medicare compliance related to our liability and workers\' compensation claims.As a \"recovering\" attorney, who had experience with Sedgwick, Medicare compliance, and handling liability and WC claims, I knew this was going to be my dream job. In six months we built a software application dedicated solely to handling Medicare related issues.(I didn\'t realize how much I enjoyed software development, but it is way better than practicing law.) Simultaneously, I hired and trained a team of Medicare compliance experts to service Sedgwick clients. Six months after we merged the team and technology we were a million dollar business.Over the years, we have continued to improved our software to increase our efficiency. In one year we doubled our revenue and doubled our profitability. Currently, we are multi-million dollar business unit servicing hundreds of clients.
