About Mark Lyons

My career path has been as winding and adventurous as the Hana Highway in Maui. However, amidst the apparent chaos, there is a discernible pattern. My two primary passions revolve around the CAD industry and education.I have a long-standing involvement in the CAD industry, dating back to the pre-CAD era. Initially, I started as a draftsman, creating hand drawings when I embarked upon my career. Since high school, I have maintained a continuous presence in this industry, playing diverse roles such as designer, teacher, marketer, speaker, author, product manager responsible for shaping the direction of a CAD software product, consultant, and, currently, a sales representative. With such a comprehensive range of experiences, I possess a holistic perspective on this industry. I have covered all the angles.Furthermore, I spent a substantial 12 years teaching CAD at the high school level. Additionally, I even had the opportunity to teach the enthralling game of golf for a few years. The insights gained from teaching, particularly young minds, are invaluable. Moreover, teaching serves as the most effective means of learning. Needless to say, I have accrued a wealth of knowledge.To this day, I actively collaborate with schools in New England. I serve on various program advisory boards and hold the position of Series Director for SkillsUSA Massachusetts, overseeing Technical and Architectural Drafting, 3D Animation, and Additive Manufacturing.Currently, I have also ventured into assisting architects involved in designing new schools. In this capacity, I act as an equipment specialist for CTE programs.I am more than willing to provide support to companies, schools, and architects in this field.
