ABOUT MICHAEL LIUT
I am an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream (Computer Science) in the Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences at the University of Toronto Mississauga. I have taught a plethora of courses, some of which include: programming, networking, databases, compilers, software design and engineering, and the theory of computation. Additionally, I’m a researcher in the Computer Science Education Research Group at the University of Toronto, where I work on several projects with numerous graduate and undergraduate students. My research interests are in computer science education (including applied machine learning, adaptive and behavioural intervention, predictive/prescriptive modelling, user adaptive systems, user experience, and data tools), as well as in algorithms (multi-armed bandit, navigation and positioning, machine learning, strings, text mining).
