About Manoj Kowshik

As the Dean of Academic Progress at KIPP Texas Public Schools, I am responsible for designing and implementing academic initiatives that support the success of all students, especially those who are underserved or underrepresented in STEM fields. I have over three years of experience in this role, where I have founded a new high school, developed novel data-tracking systems, and led a team of 10 department chairs. Before joining KIPP, I was a STEM educator and director at various organizations, such as St. Stephen\'s Episcopal Church & School and TXRX Labs. There, I created and facilitated engaging STEM curriculum for students and teachers, using cutting-edge tools and skills such as 3D printing, laser cutting, welding, and woodworking. I have a Bachelor\'s Degree in Physics from the University of Michigan, where I graduated with honors and received multiple awards. I am passionate about empowering students and teachers to explore, invent, and create through STEM education.

   Founded East End High School as a leadership team member in 2020-21 school year and led strategic growth from year 1 to year 4, managing the expansion from 150 - 600 students- Implemented scheduling practices to accommodate increased enrollment, ensuring a seamless transition and optimal learning environments while developing schedules that balanced individual preferences, educational requirements, and graduation criteria- Designed novel data-tracking systems to monitor and communicate student academic progress with all relevant stakeholders- Led over 50 staff in organizing and designing whole school initiatives, including acceleration, intervention, parent conferences, and academic programs (GPA tracking, honors, awards, credit recovery)- Created strategic intervention groups for 600 students based on Interim Assessments, STAAR Retests, and teacher need to give students opportunities make gains in most needed subject areas- Launched four relevant Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways in biomedical sciences, entrepreneurship, computer science, and welding (dual-credit) and supported 85% of students earning Industry Based Certification- Led 10 department chairs to support teacher professional development and student learning- Increased student GPAs and led KIPP Texas in academic health data for 4 years (top quartile)- Ensured that 100% of students were College Career and Military Ready (CCMR) through CollegeBridge, ACT, and AP Courses- 98% of students on-track to graduate with Foundations diploma with endorsement in the state of Texas
