Making discoveries on ancient evolution and diversification within several enzyme superfamilies: taking advantage of the fact that now it can be done on a laptop as long as you have access to public bioinformatics tools and protein sequence databases. Stay tuned!During the last 15 years a vast amount of data became available due to heroic efforts of people obtaining genomes and proteomes of various prokaryotes and eukaryotes. With the modern sequence alignment and ML-tree-building tools, and, particularly, after the arrival of AlphaFold-like modeling systems, you can set sail in any direction in the Oceans of Enzymology and discover something very interesting, that no one had seen before or just hadn\'t noticed. Almost like in the Old Days when Carracks and Clipper Ships became available.
