ABOUT MARTIN LUFF

I am a recently (semi)retired Chartered Chemical Engineer with 35 years experience as a Process Engineer, Lead Project Engineer, Design Manager, Project Manager, Project Director, Framework Manager, Engineering and Technical Manager, and General Manager, delivering a wide range of projects, predominately related to the design and construction of potable and process water, sewage, industrial effluent, solid waste and sludge treatment facilities. I have worked in a turnkey contracting environment for major UK process contractors, as well as in environmental and engineering consultancies, and consequently, have broad experience which includes working to the specific requirements of a wide range of municipal, utility and industrial companies. In addition, I have extensive experience across the whole project cycle from initial project development, bench scale and pilot testing, through feasibility and conceptual design to detailed design, construction, commissioning and process optimisation and troubleshooting. I am a strategic and creative thinker by nature, comfortable developing and applying innovation and ‘new ways of working’, and enjoy managing teams to deliver projects involving novel and/ or challenging engineering approaches and delivery. I am flexible and adaptable in my business outlook, and am enthusiastic and encouraging in my interactions with teams and individuals. I enjoy new challenges and am intrigued by new ideas, and often act as a catalyst, bringing new life to old ways of thinking.
