Provide technical support (including troubleshooting) to Electric Substation Operations and Maintenance personnel for the following substation equipment: power transformers, instrument transformers, circuit breakers, circuit switchers, capacitor banks, switches, arresters, batteries, bushings, dielectric material (oil and gas), insulators, reclosers, and regulators - Conduct electrical tests (acceptance/commissioning, routine, and investigative) on substation equipment including: Power Factor, Leakage Reactance, DC Winding Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio, Sweep Frequency Response Analysis, SF6 gas purity analysis, time and travel analysis, and contact resistance - Procure parts for new and in-service equipment, including any required collaboration internally and with manufacturers for repair support - Assist with oil processing in transformers and Load Tap Changers - Attend transformer manufacturing plants to inspect new substation transformers during assembly and witness required testing - Review OEM documentation, consensus standards, and other industry-recognized resources to ensure best practices are being utilized for equipment reliability - Analyze infrared and corona discharge inspection reports, SF6 gas purity analysis data, Dissolved Gas in Oil test results, providing additional recommendations for maintenance if necessary - Prepare, review, and/or write reports such as substation equipment maintenance procedures, troubleshoot/repair job aids, and failure analyses
