A natural dynamic leader with multi business success and experience. An organised, creative, driven person who started his first business aged 17, growing it to 30 staff and turnover in the millions. Keen entrepreneurial spirit, strong decision making capabilities, adaptable approach to business with board level experience.Matt is Chief Operating Officer for Momentic and is part of the Momentic Executive Board having an in-depth knowledge regarding the self-employment sector and policy. Matt leads on the DWP funded Restart Scheme in which Momentic have 7 self-employment contracts and previously led numerous New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) contracts and a range of ERDF/DfE/ESF and commercially funded contracts for a Prime provider, being the No 1 provider on every metric, overseeing Business Start-ups. Matt is often consulted by Government Departments and has consulted directly with DWP, ESFA, MoJ, DCLG GMCA, BIS, DfE, Scottish Government, Treasury, Cabinet Office and No 10, as well as all the leading Think Tanks. Matt is regularly invited to speaking events, panels and select committees to discuss the future of self-employment due to his understanding of the Micro and SME sector, detailed knowledge around key polices e.g. Universal Credit and unprecedented knowledge and track record in successfully helping small business start-up and grow, he is seen as a champion for the sector. Matt has an in-depth knowledge regarding the self-employment sector, enterprise policy and strategy and continues to design bespoke and unique mentoring and enterprise provisions for a range of funders. He has also previously successfully led on mergers and acquisitions, led Business ventures into new countries and excelled in winning and mobilising Employability contracts, most notably NEA, Fair Start Scotland and Restart. An entrepreneur from age 17, Matt has run numerous businesses of this own, including Retail, Property, Marketing and Consultancy.
