Service Manager and Senior Pricipal Engineer for the global Navy Federal Credit Union enterprise. I design, implement and manage shared storage platforms for open systems in two primary and four minor data centers distributed across the NFCU enterprise. Primary storage platforms include IBM FlashSystem 9500, IBM IBM San Volume Controller, IBM Storwize, and NetApp FAS/AFF, and IBM Cloud Object Storage (formerly Cleversafe).Current major projects include global deployment of Rubrik with IBM Cloud Object Storage to replace IBM Spectrum Protect (formerly Tivoli Storage Manager) with ProtecTier VTL and tertiary tape systems, and complete replacement of enterprise systems with the next generation block storage system (to be selected, competing Pure //X and //XL with IBM FS9500).Implemented and utililized IBM Tivoli/TotalStorage Productivity Center for in-depth performance analysis and troubleshooting.Managed existing twin-fabric McData/Brocade SAN in both the headquarters and the recovery datacenters. Participated in the design and deployment of converged network (Cisco Nexus and MDShardware) to supplant the discrete storage and data networks at the recovery center. Currently managingzoning and virtual FCP configuration for converged SAN resources.Daily administration of UNIX systems (primarily IBM System p POWER7 platforms, virtualized withPowerVM, LPARs running AIX 6.1). On call for major incident troubleshooting. Key resource in thedesign and implementation of the recovery center UNIX environment, including VIO and partitioninglayouts, NPIV configuration. Built and maintained several concurrent HACMP clusters, primarilysupporting DB2 and Oracle. Also performed systematic upgrades of more than four hundred AIX images from version 5.3 to version 6.1.
