Ensures that solutions and delivery represent best-value, whilst meeting requirements, timescales and strategic fit. • Translates detailed technical knowledge into business terms, communicating and liaising with stakeholders at all levels including users, department heads, board members and external customers. • Has delivered IT both internally in Head IT roles, as a board-level IT Director and also via a large £57M outsource, working for a large Police force in partnership with two councils and IBM. • Manages large budgets (£8M capital, £9M revenue), delivering savings of over £5.8M via rationalisation of requirements, appropriate solutions, competitive procurement processes and strong supplier management. • Works at local, regional and national levels to ensure effective strategic direction and that opportunities for collaboration are realised. • Strong people manager. Able to provide strategic direction, motivate, empower and support to staff at all levels. • Technical knowledge and experience allows management of technical staff whilst also working at the level of project boards, strategic forums, senior leadership teams and executive boards, thereby ensuring the strategic fit and best value of solutions that facilitate business objectives. • Security vetted to SC (whilst at Avon and Somerset Police). Experienced at working to CESG standards at RESTRICTED, CONFIDENTIAL and occasionally SECRET. Experienced in cybersecurity and both maintaining a secure environment and in the proactive identification and resolution of any shortfalls.
