Jay Hamilton, PE, joins Mead & Hunt to lead the traffic engineering team and assist with client management in the upper Midwest. Jay has more than 30 years experience with ODOT, the last 17 years as the District 8 Traffic Planning Engineering. He has extensive project management experience having served as the ODOT Project Manager for the Thru the Valley project since its inception in 2004. He has managed dozens of safety improvement projects including intersection upgrades and traffic signals.As a project manager, Jay is adept at maintaining project schedules and budgets, managing contracts, and coordinating and communicating with local agencies and key stakeholders involved in the project. He is well known for his ability to strike the delicate balance between local governments and the public while addressing local needs and concerns with ODOT standards, policies and funding constraints. He has long standing, close relationships with government officials throughout southwest Ohio.
