ABOUT MITRA SAMAVAKI
Mitra (she/her) is an Iranian photographer currently based in Calgary, Canada. She holds an MFA in photography from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor\'s degree in Sculpture from Tehran University of Art. With over a decade of experience in the field, Mitra\'s passion and dedication to photography have led her to master a wide range of photographic approaches, including editorial, documentary, commercial, and fine art. For her, photography has always served as a therapeutic tool and a means of expressing her emotions, as well as a way of connecting with people and her surrounding environment. She has previously worked as a photojournalist and documentary photographer for various news agencies, newspapers, and magazines in Iran. This experience instilled in her a deep appreciation for the power of photography to raise awareness and create a meaningful impact. She is dedicated to pushing creative boundaries and exploring new horizons, always seeking to expand her skillset and challenge herself as an artist.
