Autumn Mitchell is a seasoned public policy professional with extensive experience in government administration, strategic policy development, and community engagement. She currently serves as Deputy Chief of the Office of Policy and Administration, Minority Business Development Division at the Ohio Department of Development. In this role, Autumn works to implement initiatives and process improvements, including program policy development, performance management, and budgeting. She coordinates internally and externally to advance economic opportunities for minority businesses while fostering inclusive and sustainable growth throughout Ohio.Previously, Autumn held the position of Senior Policy Analyst for the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, where she spearheaded critical initiatives in environmental sustainability, affordable housing, and early learning. She played a key role in researching and pro-posing innovative solutions to complex problems and represented Franklin County on regional networks and national delegations.Her robust legislative background includes serving as Policy Manager for Franklin County Commissioner Erica C. Crawley, where she implemented policies aligned with the Rise Together Poverty Blueprint and collaborated on experiential learning initiatives with The Ohio State University. As Policy Advisor for the Ohio House of Representatives, she contributed to key legislative strategies, including biennial budget appropriations and pandemic-related caucus priorities. In 2019, Autumn received Employee of the Quarter for her work as a staffer, voted on by a bipartisan committee of her peers. She came to the legislature as a Fellow with the Legislative Service Commission and then served as a legislative aide following the completion of the fellowship.Autumn was a 2024 CIRCLE Fellow with Greater Columbus Sister Cities International, a 2023 participant in the National Forum for Black Public Administrators Mentor Program, and a 2020 Fellow of the New Leaders Council Columbus Chapter. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration from the University of Toledo and a Master\'s in Public Administration from Franklin University. Her career is driven by a passion for equity and economic mobility, aiming to empower underserved communities and businesses through innovative policy solutions and dedicated public service.
