ABOUT MITCHELL NORSEN
MECHANICAL ENGINEERWhy a career in engineering?I love the challenge of finding creative solutions that help shape the technology and environment of modern life. Throughout the process of designing, developing, building, and testing, I apply the engineering skills I have learned to collaborate on designs that function reliably, efficiently, and safely.MY ADDED VALUEWhile the technical aspects of engineering are skills I have honed through my education and experience, I have also invested in myself so that I can be an effective team member, collaborative leader, and results-based contributor. For example, I was selected as a Student Ambassador at the University of Colorado – during my first semester at CU – to facilitate campus tours for large groups of prospective students and families, providing valuable insight on academics, university culture, and student life.In addition, I have trained in taekwondo for more than 10 years. Aside from earning the rank of second degree black belt, I was named the captain of the school\'s demonstration team, helping the team earn podium finishes at 4 consecutive national championships. Since 2024 I have been honored to serve as the Athlete Representative for the Colorado State Taekwondo Association. In this volunteer capacity, I work with the other board members to promote taekwondo throughout the state, including planning and managing the annual state championships.TECHNOLOGIES AND TOOLSSOLIDWORKS … CAD … Autodesk Fusion360 … Python … C++.
