About Mitchell Cooper
I am a member of the Emory University Varsity Swim Team. I have demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and time management skills by devoting 20-30 hours per week to training. I helped contribute to the team\'s 15th-consecutive University Athletic Association title in 2014 and its ninth 3rd-place finish at the 2014 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. I achieved NCAA Academic All-American honors, NCAA All-American Honorable Mention, and UAA second-team honors as a freshman, and was voted Men\'s Varsity team Rookie of the Year.I volunteer with the Special Olympics swimming program at the Emory swimming pool for an hour each week. I have built relationships with and provided support for Olympians who attend each week through personal conversations and encouragement during their practices, which gave them heightened self-esteem and confidence while swimming.
