ABOUT MITCH SETTINO

I am a highly-motivated supply chain professional with a demonstrated history of success in logistics and supply chain management. My interest in this field began at Penn State University, where I learned the foundations of supply chain in one of the nation’s top programs. Since then, I have worked at Dick’s Sporting Goods, GNC, Molson Coors, and Ball Corporation and helped improve diverse distribution networks, while always keeping customer service the top priority. AnalyticsMy career has been rooted in big data analytics, network optimization and improving supply chain performance. I have led various network design projects and always rely on data to help make the best strategic decisions for the company. SourcingI have had the opportunity to manage many strategic sourcing activities, such as coordinating procurement events, conducting analysis for final awards and improving existing sourcing processes. While reducing costs across the supply chain is great, finding that perfect balance between cost and service is even better. Process ImprovementI always challenge my teams to think with a continuous improvement mindset, whether it is a large-scale network change or a simple adjustment to a community file. There is always more than one way to perform a task, and just because something has been done one way for a long time does not necessarily mean it is the most efficient way. FinancialsI closely collaborate with my Finance counterparts to improve financial forecasting, reporting and budgeting accuracy. Developing these internal relationships is important to me because the knowledge share between these two teams can result in big wins for any company. Supplier ManagementEarly on in my career I learned how to successfully improve operational performance across a large supplier base, while building long-term partnerships. These relationships are pivotal to efficient and consistent supply chain performance.
