Kiwi operator helping growth-stage companies scale without the chaos.Currently running The Edwards Practice - providing fractional COO and CLO services to help companies scale effectively during their critical growth phase.Previously spent seven years at VoxSmart, a FinTech company specialising in AI-powered communications surveillance for financial institutions. Joined as the first legal and commercial hire when the company had 19 employees. Progressed to Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, scaling the organisation to over 100 people while leading three funding rounds totalling £30m+. During this period, VoxSmart was ranked the 27th fastest-growing company in the UK.That journey taught me growth without proper operations is just expensive chaos. Built the frameworks, teams, and systems that let us double revenue year-on-year without everything falling apart.As a qualified Barrister & Solicitor in New Zealand, I bring deep expertise in complex commercial negotiations, particularly with global financial institutions and regulated entities. My operational leadership experience ensures I can design and implement practical solutions that work in high-growth environments.I\'ve worn multiple hats, often simultaneously. Stepped up to run finance when our CFO left. Rebuilt sales operations when our CCO departed. Led capital raises, restructured teams, negotiated vendor deals, and generally fixed whatever needed fixing.Before VoxSmart I worked at Shell on a major asset transaction and helped run Lightbox, New Zealand\'s ambitious rival to Netflix.The Edwards Practice now delivers this operational and legal expertise on a fractional basis - including 90-day operating plans, board advisory, contract negotiations, and operational infrastructure development for companies requiring senior-level capability without full-time executive appointments.Outside of work: chasing the dream of scratch golf (Current handicap 8.9)
