ABOUT MITALI MONDAL
I am Mitali, an M.Tech student at Birla Institute of Technology, Dept. of Remote Sensing. I am a former Geography student of Visva Bharati, an Institute of National Importance and UNESCO World Heritage Site. I am really keen in spatio-temporal analysis. Being a Remote Sensing and GIS enthusiast, I am skilled in various GIS and image processing softwares. I am also interested in Microwave Remote sensing and drone technology. I also have basic knowledge of Python programming language. My dissertation work was based on Solid Waste Management in Urban Areas for which I studied 150 households in the municipality and searched for the spatial differentiation in SWM focusing on the core and peripheries. Beside my strong academic background, I hold interest in various fields of art and culture. I was an NSS volunteer for two years. I attended a cultural exchange programme for 22 days at Tagore Gymnasium in Berlin, Germany. I also achieved the National Scholar Award at the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
