ABOUT MITALI DHAWAN
My journey began in the small city of Ferozepur, where my curiosity about people and cultures first took root. This curiosity led me to study in various parts of India, eventually bringing me to Canada, where I now reside as a permanent resident. My path hasn\'t been linear, but that\'s exactly what makes my approach so authentic. I understand what it means to adapt, take risks, and build resilience in the face of new challenges. What drives me is a genuine fascination with people, their stories, their cultures, and their unique perspectives that make every workplace richer. This passion naturally led me to pursue psychology and HR, recognising that everything in organisations ultimately revolves around people. I\'m a learner by doing, someone who thrives on new experiences and isn\'t afraid of answering the same question multiple times or tackling something I\'ve never done before. My love for adventure and that adrenaline rush of taking on new challenges translates into my professional life, where I approach each organisational challenge with curiosity and courage. Throughout my career, I\'ve woven my deep care for people into every role I\'ve taken on. From onboarding 400+ employees during complex mergers to designing 50+ training programs that actually resonate because they honor how people learn, I\'ve always focused on the human experience. My 350+ hours of counseling and 500+ wellness consultations reflect my commitment to mental health and employee wellbeing, areas where my psychology background and genuine empathy create real impact. As a co-leader of employee resource groups and champion of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives, I understand that beautiful workplaces happen when every culture and perspective is valued. My connection to nature, especially my love for water, reminds me that just like natural ecosystems, healthy workplace cultures require balance, flow, and respect for all elements within them. My published research in Psychology, Health and Medicine demonstrates my commitment to evidence-based practices, while my diverse experiences across mental health, wellness coaching, and organizational development show my adaptability and resilience. For me, work isn\'t just about processes, it\'s about creating spaces where people can bring their whole selves to work, where mental health matters as much as productivity, and where every individual\'s unique story adds value to the collective narrative of the organisation.
