Misty Peterson, AIGP, CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP, serves as Counsel in King & Spalding\'s Data Privacy & Security and Class Action practices. Misty focuses on compliance and cybersecurity incident response needs for clients, including containment, remediation, and notifications to individuals and regulators. She also regularly handles the defense of complex and class action litigation under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, California Consumer Privacy Act, state and federal wiretap acts, fraud, consumer protection statutes, and related privacy laws. Misty was Recommended to the 2023 Legal 500 US for the Media, Technology & Telecoms category.Misty’s experience includes the representation of corporate and individual clients as plaintiffs and defendants in mass torts, products liability, securities, insurance disputes, and complex commercial matters. Prior to joining King & Spalding LLP, Misty was a senior associate at another large litigation firm, and also previously worked as in-house counsel for an insurance corporation on regulatory and claims matters. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
