ABOUT MISSY FRASER
I am a neuroscientist and certified athletic trainer with expertise in the clinical management of sport-related concussion (SRC). My primary research interest is on identifying the relationships between emotion dysregulation and SRC incidence and history. Emotion dysregulation encompasses emotion (depression), mood (anxiety, impulsivity, aggression, optimism, affect, satisfaction with life), and behaviors (suicidal ideation, risk-taking). Additional research areas include neurodegenerative disease, sport-related head impact biomechanics (accelerometers), and baseline and post-injury concussion assessments and rehabilitation, including cognition, balance, coordination, vision, and symptoms in athletes and the general populace. In addition to my research, I am also a professor in the TXST pre-rehabilitation sciences and EXSS undergraduate and graduate programs.
