ABOUT MISKER MIKA KASSAHUN TEKA

I’m Dr. Misker Kassahun Teka, a medical doctor, public health professional, and advocate for health equity, mental health, and youth empowerment.I’m the Co-Founder and former Executive Director of GIV Society Ethiopia, where we mobilized 800+ volunteer health professionals to provide free care to over underserved individuals in the first 2 years of launch. I also helped launch the \"Mental Health for Health Professionals\" campaign to support the well-being of Ethiopian healthcare workers.I’m a 2022 Mandela Washington Fellow and a 2023 AAUW International Fellow. I hold an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where I helped launch the Ethio-Hopkins Alumni Network and the Graduate Ethiopian Students Association.My experience spans government, nonprofits, and consulting such as working with the Ministry of Health–Ethiopia, St. Paul’s Hospital, the Ethiopian Medical Association, and more. I’m currently the Co-Founder and serve as a consultant at Ensight Global Consultancy, where we deliver strategic solutions in public health, policy, and research for LMICs.Outside of public health, I’ve represented Ethiopia in international modeling competitions like Miss Supranational and Miss Africa Beauty Queen. These experiences taught me the power of confidence, discipline, and using your platform to inspire others.Whether I’m mentoring young leaders, speaking on panels, or designing health equity programs, I’m always working to connect purpose with impact.
