Financial Services Leader with 30+ years of experience cutting across BFSI, Digital & Fintech domains; possess deep expertise and insights in the areas of strategy, products, profitability, digital transformation, sales & building partnerships.Prior to joining Kearney, I served as the Joint Secretary to the Govt. of India in 2019 at the Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services, after being selected by UPSC as the first batch of Joint Secretaries under GoI\'s Lateral Entry Scheme and served till April-2023. My remits were Insurance and Fintech sectors of India.Under the Insurance remit, I looked after all policy matters pertaining to the Indian Insurance sector (Life, Health & General Insurers, Reinsurers & Insurance Intermediaries) and held strategic oversight across Public Sector Insurers - LIC, GIC Re, AICIL, NIACL, UIICL, NICL & OICL. During this stint, I led some path-breaking policy reforms in the insurance sector, including managing listing of LIC - the biggest-ever IPO of an Insurer globally, enabling disinvestment in PSU General Insurers, driving KPIs-linked profitable growth at PSU General Insurers and drafting the Insurance Bill,2023 comprising a range of structural reforms for the sector. Under the Fintech remit, I dealt with all policy matters pertaining to the FinTech & CyberSecurity and led some key initiatives including handling the issue of illegal lending m-apps, notification of core IT systems of RBI, major banks & insurers as protected systems, digital transformation of CKYC & Security Interest registries, and acted as the conduit on cybersecurity matters between financial services regulators (RBI/ IRDA/ PFRDA) & Govt.\'s cybersecurity agencies (I4C, IB, NTRO, NCIIPC and CERT-Fin)Before joining GoI, I worked at Willis Towers Watson (I) P. Ltd. as their BFSI Leader and Head of Client Management, India. Prior to that, I co-founded a service FinTech venture ‘InstaRemedy’, aimed at resolution of customer complaints across BFSI sector and achieved ~90% success rate during its beta phase before pausing its operations due to the delays faced in Series-A funding. Earlier, after the liberalisation of Insurance sector in India, I worked extensively with some of the leading FS/ Insurance JVs for ~15 years, including HDFC Standard Life, Tata AIG Life and Star Union Dai-ichi Life in senior capacities. In my overseas stints, I worked as the CEO of Muscat Insurance Company SAOG, Oman, overseeing their life and general insurance subsidiaries and investments and prior to that, with BankMuscat SAOG as their Head of Bancassurance.
