ABOUT MIRNA L. ARROYO-MIRANDA
I am a bilingual Alzheimer’s and dementia researcher with over a decade of experience in public health, community engagement, and legal advocacy. My career is dedicated to addressing health disparities, particularly in Latino/Hispanic communities, by translating complex epidemiological research into actionable public health strategies. In addition to my research and advocacy work, I am the founder and CEO of Receptum Health Strategies, where I develop and implement community-centered health solutions for underrepresented populations. Our mission is to bridge health gaps in Latino/Hispanic communities by creating culturally relevant brain health education and building strategic partnerships to promote health equity. As part of Receptum\'s efforts, I also manage the Dra. Mirna Arroyo digital brain health education page, which focuses on brain health, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia care. Through this platform, I create and share culturally relevant content aimed at promoting cognitive health and dementia awareness within Latino communities. Since launching, the page has grown to over 500 followers, and my educational videos receive an average of views per video, successfully engaging a wide audience in brain health education. I have also worked with Convite Media, where I enhanced my mass communication skills, creating and managing health campaigns through multimedia platforms. This experience helped me translate public health knowledge into accessible content for diverse audiences.Key Achievements:– Assisted PI in managing the ECHAR Network grant, a 3-year, multi-site grant, overseeing community engagement, pilot grant management, and research on cognitive performance in Hispanic/Latino older adults.– Developed and organized the Puerto Rico Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Research Symposium, through a pilot grant, enhancing research collaborations and outreach on the island.– Postdoctoral Fellow in Cultural Dementia Epidemiology at the University of Houston.– Currently lead the \"Dra.
