Follow your passion…” The overused cliche that people like to recite to encourage you to JUMP. We all have that one passion or that one dream we would love to pursue - if only Sallie Mae wasn’t on the other line. That was me. I’ve always wanted to find an outlet for my creative side. Instead, I deferred my dreams for 10 years in order to become a pharmacist. Then, my sister called. I’ll never forget that day. It was almost 2 years ago. She was graduating from college and wanted to have a graduation party to celebrate. She asked me to help design it. But, I hesitated. Do I really want to add one more thing to my to-do list? I already had a jam-packed schedule, a full-time job, and I had to make time for bae too. “I’ll do it.” And with those 3 words, I never looked back. The rush of coming up with the design. Picking out materials. Coming up with concepts that match her personality. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. I had finally found my creative outlet. In less than 2 years - by “following my passion” - I’ve launched an event design business, Epoch By Design.
