Develops and implements safety policies and practices at the four Adventist ministries. Monitors the safety environment through the use of measurement indicators to minimize risks and improve safety performance.Accomplishments• Developed a respiratory program in the midst of a pandemic which includes new policies, equipment training and sustainability of program. • Created an ongoing hazard surveillance program. This program includes monitoring for Life Safety Code compliance, the Department of Public Health regulations, OSHA regulations, EPA, Infection Control regulations and all AHJ regulations. In addition, each service line is provided with designated safety stations for accessibility to resources. • Continuous review and approval of the Environment of Care plans and ongoing performance toward completion. • Chair of the EOC Safety, Life Safety and Emergency Management committees at the four ministries. • Created a waste management program for the 4 ministries which includes training for all EVS and clinical staff on the proper disposal of hazardous pharmaceuticals and regulated medical waste.• Ongoing risk assessments created to pro-actively evaluate the impact of buildings, grounds, equipment and occupants.• Creates a culture that prioritizes effective safety and balances overall associated costs. Provides support and training materials for the site Safety Officers.• Conducts on-site reviews and audits of operations. Conducts EOC safety related accident investigations and recommends corrective action. • Actively participates in safety meetings across the region to review safety performance and policies. Creates and maintains a culture reflective of an injury-free workplace.• Develops, implements and monitors compliance of department budgets.• Partners with multi disciplinary service lines to develop accreditation tracers and mock surveys. • Holds the position of Safety Officer in Incident Command in the event of a disaster.
