About Miriam Merin
I\'m a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist dedicated to helping adolescents launch into healthy adulthoods grounded in meaning, connection, and achievement. In addition to my clinical work, I write a blog, Collegekind, about mental health in higher education. My studies and career have lived at the intersection of mental health and education: I’m a graduate of Brown University, where I earned a B.A. in education history & policy, the University of Oxford, where I earned an M.Sc. in higher education, and the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, where I studied social work with a focus on mental health in higher education. I also completed a clinical certificate in psychodynamic psychotherapy at Bryn Mawr College. Alongside my clinical work, I’m pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Edinburgh, where my research explores the college experiences of individuals who have overcome early life trauma. I\'m a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Phi Alpha Honor Society in Social Work.
