ABOUT MIRIAM HOMEM DE MELLO

I’m a compassionate, caring, and solutions-oriented professional who believes in the power of connection, dignity, and purpose—especially in the lives of older adults. With a background in Gerontology, the arts, and community program development, I combine creativity, problem-solving skills, and out-of-the-box thinking to design programs that promote well-being, inclusion, and social connection. I see the big picture while staying attuned to individual needs. Whether it’s through innovative community partnerships or meaningful day-to-day activities, I’m always looking for creative ways to improve quality of life for seniors. I’m deeply passionate about volunteering—not only as a form of community engagement but as a dignified way to honor the knowledge, time, and life experience of older adults. I actively advocate for policies that recognize and support seniors who give back to their communities through regular volunteer work. Hardworking, empathetic, and driven by purpose, I’m committed to creating environments where older adults feel valued, heard, and inspired.
