About Miriam Rothschild

After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar College, I moved to D.C. to work at an international relations think tank as a learning and development coordinator. What I loved most about that role was providing people with opportunities to grow into better versions of themselves. In the fall of 2025, I left D.C. to pursue a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Michigan, where I hope to gain the skills necessary to broaden my impact beyond the executive education space.I firmly believe my calling as a social worker is to extend empathy, service, compassion, and dignity to those whom society often denies these privileges. As Rabbi Hillel’s famous quote reminds us, doing so is not just a matter of importance for those individuals, but for the humanity of all people.I aspire to use my education in interpersonal practice to listen to adults and recognize them not simply as an illness, a choice, or a record, but as multifaceted, complex individuals with stories. I want to understand their life experiences and demonstrate genuine empathy for their circumstances. I want to do what I can to make their lives more livable and to set them up for long-term well-being.My curiosity, growth mindset, and willingness to embrace complex challenges will allow me to serve others successfully in the future. Alongside my clinical training, I bring a wide range of program management, administrative, and quantitative skills from my work in international relations. This combination of experiences uniquely equips me to navigate both the human and organizational dimensions of social work. Looking ahead, I am excited to continue building a career that integrates empathy with strategy. I hope to create meaningful change for individuals while contributing to more equitable systems overall.
