PRO is an interdisciplinary design studio founded in 2011 by Miriam Peterson and Nathan Rich. Our office was established under the belief that invention pushes culture forward, but that lasting architectural innovations must be anchored to context - to typology, to site, to the current economy, and to speculation about the future. This anchoring preserves the integrity of our built environment. Our responsibility as architects is to think critically about our surroundings, to honor what came before, and to approach any opportunity to impact the future with enthusiasm and creative force. Our design process begins by not just studying the site, but also the economic, social, political, and historic forces behind a project. Through close work with clients, consultants, and collaborators from other disciplines we believe architecture can be pushed beyond expected solutions, toward greater results.
