ABOUT MIRELY VASQUEZ

Behavioral health professional and PsyD candidate with over 20 years of experience supporting crisis response, trauma-informed care, behavioral health operations, workforce wellness, and multidisciplinary systems coordination across county, correctional, hospital, school-based, and community settings. My professional background includes mobile crisis response, correctional behavioral health, quality assurance and compliance, child welfare mental health, community-based behavioral health services, clinical supervision, and operational coordination within high-acuity and safety-sensitive environments. I am passionate about strengthening systems of care through culturally responsive engagement, collaborative leadership, program development, and trauma-informed approaches that improve both individual and organizational outcomes. In addition to public sector behavioral health experience, I am expanding my work in private practice development and trauma-informed equine-assisted psychotherapy with a growing interest in innovative and experiential approaches to healing, resilience, and community wellness. My developing doctoral research interests focus on culturally responsive trauma-informed interventions, underserved communities, and equine-assisted psychotherapy among Latino populations.I consider myself to be a well-rounded individual with broad experience working across diverse cultures, systems, and communities. My objective is to continue growing and learning through collaboration with peers, colleagues, and lived experiences. I do not believe leadership comes from perfection, but rather from authenticity, adaptability, accountability, and a willingness to continue evolving. I value humility, objectivity, honesty, and integrity, and strive to remain grounded in both my professional work and personal growth while supporting individuals, teams, and communities through complex challenges and change.
