About Miranda Bravo
My path to occupational therapy began long before I knew the profession existed. My curiosity has always guided my interactions with the world, and as I’ve grown, I’ve developed an appreciation for the complex connections among people, our environments, and the things that occupy our time. As a current occupational therapy (MSOT) student at UNC-Chapel Hill, I am learning to apply my energy and creativity to a career that will allow me to empower others through person-centered care.Over the past 10+ years, I\'ve worked with children, families, and people of all abilities through a variety of roles. Experiences such as serving in the Peace Corps, advocating with the disability community, and engaging in the research process have deepened my love for working with people and my belief in the power of collaboration. My passion for mental health and co-creating spaces of belonging have been and will always be the foundation of my work. I\'m a lifelong learner who thrives when pushed outside of my comfort zone, and I intentionally seek out opportunities that allow me to grow in adaptability and cultural humility. In the future, I hope to contribute to the field of occupational therapy through advocacy for the profession\'s role in mental health, community-based work, and research. In my free time, you can find me being a \"jack of all trades and a master of none,” but in my line of work, that’s more beneficial than being a master of one. Some of my favorite occupations are traveling, drinking coffee, dancing, learning languages (my Duolingo streak is going strong), and running, and I especially enjoy engaging in these occupations with others. Please reach out if you would like to chat - I love to connect with new people!
