ABOUT MIRA MILES
I am a public health professional with a research background in environmental epidemiology. My research primarily focuses on wildfire exposures and their impacts on human health and resilience. I am interested in studying the influence of the environment on biological pathways of disease to improve our understanding of disease etiology, as well as to consider how adaptation and mitigation measures can be implemented to protect populations and promote healthy communities. My primary role as Associate Program Manager of the UC Davis Environmental Health Sciences Center is to support the Center\'s epidemiological research. I am also a Fellow with the UC Center for Climate Health and Equity at UC San Francisco, where I investigate health system preparedness for climate extremes. Each of my roles involve collaboration with public health departments and stakeholders, study design and implementation, epidemiological methods, and public health practice.
