Michael Iovanna serves as Assistant General Counsel for AXA XL – United States Insurance, where he leverages his extensive legal expertise to drive strategic initiatives and guide a wide array of legal matters. In this role, he acts as a trusted legal advisor to a large number of underwriting business units. He delivers creative, timely counsel on a broad spectrum of issues, including insurance, surety, and corporate matters, while drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts as well as managing corporate litigated cases.Prior to his in-house career, Mike honed his skills as an attorney at a well-recognized AmLaw 200 firm. His excellence in representing clients in general defense, commercial litigation, contract disputes, and insurance coverage matters throughout Connecticut earned him the SuperLawyers Rising Star award in 2021. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, leading insurers, small businesses, and individuals.Committed to giving back to the community, Mike has volunteered over 500 hours of pro bono work in Connecticut. He is currently a Pro Bono attorney for Lawyers for Children America where he represents minors in Connecticut Juvenile Court.
