In Junior High, I remember watching Alex Trebek (long-time host of Jeopardy! and great humanitarian) travelled to different parts of the world with World Vision to show the poor living conditions faced by many children and their families in developing nations. Those shows inspired me to become an engineer because I have a passion to make things better – fixing what is broken, enhancing what is good, and fighting for what is right.In 20+ years in the field of Asset Integrity Management, I aimed to protect people, the environment, and the company’s bottom line by properly diagnosing issues and prescribing remedial solutions, by dispensing trusted advice for decision makers, and by effectively advancing the cause of the company or individuals under my care.Among other career accomplishments, I am proud to have collaborated with a talented group of individuals to develop a solution to address an issue that led to a significant environmental event (which was successfully cleaned up). That solution has since been adopted or adapted by many industry peers and has reduced the number of recurrences over the last decade.I believe that spirit of collaboration and a mindset for continuous improvement are needed to address challenging issues surrounding reliability of oil & gas infrastructure, emissions reduction, and waste management. I am seeking an opportunity to continue making things better in asset integrity management or to make things better for a company actively participating in energy transition with a drive to reduce waste in various forms.
