ABOUT MINERVA FONTES

When I got into the world of Localisation, I fell in love with the combination of language, technology and problem-solving. Turns out that what I’m really good at is finding solutions, such as finding the way to save nearly 90% in localisation costs in a project while improving delivery time and quality by enforcing localisation best practices and the right tools to use. My career has been a blend of localisation management, strategic innovation, and fostering collaborative environments. Starting as a Localisation QA Tester, I quickly advanced to managing complex, multilingual projects with teams of more than 60 people, ensuring high-quality deliverables and streamlined execution. At some point, someone encouraged me to get a certification in software testing, which required facing some snippets of code for the first time. And suddenly, a piece I was missing clicked when I found out that programming was not only something I could do: it was also incredibly fun. I started learning programming and video game development right away.Currently, as a Technical Localisation Manager at Frontier Developments, I thrive on integrating the latest industry trends into our workflow. By developing adaptive strategies and fostering cross-functional collaborations, I\'ve managed to elevate our processes and maintain high standards. On top of that, my role allows me to mentor the future badasses in the Localisation industry, driving growth and innovation within my team.My accomplishments are a reflection of my dedication to continuous improvement and efficiency. From slashing project costs to enhancing VO pipelines that saved weeks of work and thousands of pounds, I\'ve always aimed to deliver tangible results. My strategic approach and technical expertise have consistently led to smoother project executions, improved interdepartmental communications, and enhanced overall performance.Throughout my career, I\'ve honed a diverse skillset encompassing project management, data analysis and technological integration. Thanks to my personal projects, I am getting proficient at new programming languages, I am learning a lot about UX design, and I am getting even better at developing robust, adaptable workflows that meet the dynamic needs of the industry.I always seek new challenges and my eyes are set on programming, UX and video game production, so that I can combine my managerial capabilities with my passion for development.Feel free to reach me if you\'re interested in discussing emerging localisation technologies or video game development!
