About Luke Miner
In the winter of 2009, I read the book Rich Dad Poor Dad, while at the same time starting a Christmas tree business. While the business failed miserably, I realized I love working for myself and wanted to keep starting businesses. From there I co-founded YouCaring.com, which became the #1 crowdfunding site for causes, raising over in 5 years. I successfully excited YouCaring.com in 2015, in the first acquisition of a major crowdfunding website. YouCaring eventually merged with GoFundMe, our #1 competitor, in 2018. My \"Day job\" is a real estate investor/developer. I love finding properties that are under utilized and transitioning it to the highest and best use for that space. The primary region for real estate ventures is downtown Redding California. I am also a Member of Shasta Angels, an investor group established to help our region\'s entrepreneurs with funding. Finally, I am the president of Startup Redding non-profit. Startup Redding\'s mission is to encourage entrepreneurship in Redding CA through education, networking and events.
