ABOUT MINDY SICHEL
I have 20+ years of experience in product development, building products and bringing them to market. In 10+ years as a Product Manager and Business Architect, I’ve worked with cross-functional teams with many products and services, in both small start-ups and large multi-national private and public sector environments.I’m results-oriented: I figure out what’s needed and do whatever is necessary to get there. I drive software through the lifecycle (SDLC).I’m a strategic thinker – I see the big picture as well as the technical details. I understand both the business and technology requirements. I’m a creative problem solver – I love taking complicated situations and breaking them down into solvable chunks. I have a bias for action: strategy is important, but execution is 90% of the battle! And that’s where I excel: getting things done. I’m enthusiastic and love working on a good team with other driven smart people. A manager called me inclusive, collaborative, and positive: a good team player. I’m persuasive, with strong communication skills – both writing and speaking. I love presenting in front of a crowd, and was voted Top Speaker at a customer conference. My writing skills were honed in my first job in the tech sector, as a Technical Writer. I’ve always loved to be involved and volunteer for community and professional organizations. I was the elected President of the Centretown Community Association. I’ve spoken at City Council meetings and been quoted many times in the media. I enjoy working with my community to make life better in many small but tangible ways -from changing development proposals through feedback and negotiation, to organizing a farmers market, to redeveloping the association\'s website. For 4 years I was VP for Speakers and Programs for the Ottawa Product Management Association, recruiting high-profile expert speakers for monthly educational and networking events, and collaborating with them to deliver relevant and topical presentations. I championed and led the transformation from free community sessions to paid professional networking events. Attendance stayed constant, and attendee satisfaction & membership increased. I’m always interested in a conversation! m••••••••@gmail.com61••••••63
