About Mindy Larson Crystal

Mindy Larson Crystal is the Senior Professional Advancement Manager at the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation where she manages apprenticeship partnerships, including the Restaurant Youth Registered Apprenticeship. Prior to joining NRAEF, Mindy worked at the Institute for Educational Leadership as the Deputy Director of the Center for Workforce Development. Mindy has over 20 years of experience managing projects and providing technical assistance to the youth workforce development field. She previously led federally funded technical assistance centers supported by the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Education. Mindy received a M.A. in Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. from Penn State. Experience includes: directing training and technical assistance projects aimed at building capacity in the youth workforce development, employment and training, and education fields at the national, state, and local levels; co-authored and edited multiple technical assistance publications on policies and practices that engage and support young people with and without disabilities in education, employment, training, and youth development programs; served as Project Director for the Vocational Rehabilitation Youth Technical Assistance Center (YTAC)(funded by the Rehabilitation Services Administration, U.S. Department of Education); served in director and project manager roles for the National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth)(funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy); Experienced at working collaboratively with funders, service providers, policy administrators, consultants, and youth leaders to improve services to underserved youth and students. Mindy\'s prior experience includes managing a local juvenile justice re-entry initiative and managing professional development programs and other projects at the National Youth Employment Coalition.
