I am passionate about fostering a coalition of changemakers dedicated to revitalizing communities through economic development, building resiliency and sustainability into neighborhoods—ensuring they thrive for the people who live in them.As the Manager of Marketing and Engagement for the Center for Community Systems at NJIT, I’m responsible for showcasing the center’s wide range of grant programs and services. These include the NJIT TAB (Technical Assistance to Brownfield Communities) program, which covers EPA Regions 2 & 4 (NJ, NY, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, TN, and tribal nations), as well as NJIT TARP (Technical Assistance for Resiliency Program), and the NY/NJ EJ TCTAC Hub (Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Centers). I’m proud to work alongside an amazing team of individuals dedicated to driving positive change where it’s needed most.Outside of work, I wear many hats. Need photography, event management, graphic design, tech advice, a resume overhaul, or a healthy dose of honest feedback? I’ve got you covered—and the witty banter comes free of charge. NJIT serves as the Technical Assistance to Brownfield Communities (TAB) provider for EPA regions 2 & 4 (NJ, NY, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, TN and various tribal nations). My position serves to highlight our incredible, multidisciplinary team of experts as a resource for communities within our region to ENGAGE, EDUCATE and EMPOWER. ENGAGE with communities to understand their unique needs and situation. EDUCATE them on the opportunities brownfields present, what the process is of redeveloping their brownfield, funding opportunities to move their projects along and review grant application, review Phase 1 & 2 reports and more. Most importantly, we\'re here to EMPOWER communities to see their brownfield redevelopment projects from start to finish and build capacity for them to continue to do so, serving their community needs.
