Mimi Brown is the visionary leader and founder of GreenBirdi, an innovative e-commerce marketplace dedicated to advancing economic equity and wellbeing for women, Indigenous peoples, and other marginalized groups across Canada. Drawing on her extensive career in education, leadership, and Indigenous advocacy, Mimi is revolutionizing ethical commerce through GreenBirdi\'s proprietary CARES Framework and commitment to \"Doing Business in a Good Way.\"Born and raised in Victoria BC, Mimi is grateful to the lək̓ʷəŋən Speaking Peoples, including the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations, for having lived and worked within their ancestral, traditional, and unceded territories. This deep respect for Indigenous cultures informs GreenBirdi\'s dedication to authentic representation and economic reconciliation.After a distinguished 29-year career as an educator and administrator, Mimi has transitioned her leadership skills to entrepreneurship, creating GreenBirdi as a vehicle for systemic change. Her vision is to build a marketplace where verified ethical commerce drives equality, equity, and sustainability while generating prosperity for all participants.As a Harvard-trained negotiator who puts people\'s interests first, Mimi has assembled an exceptional cross-generational team at GreenBirdi that bridges traditional business with emerging values. Her collaborative leadership style and analytical approach have been instrumental in developing GreenBirdi\'s unique authentication system for sustainable, culturally authentic products.Mimi holds an MEd in Equity with emphasis on culturally and linguistically diverse education as a Fellow from the University of Colorado Boulder, a BA in French Language and Literature from the University of Victoria and completed the Executive Women in Leadership Certification from Cornell University in 2023.Through GreenBirdi, Mimi is creating not just a platform, but a movement and economic ecosystem that demonstrates how business can be a powerful force for social change. Her commitment to Indigenous language revitalization and land rights, women\'s economic empowerment, and sustainable practices is embedded in every aspect of GreenBirdi\'s operations, from its curated marketplace to its community-building initiatives.
