About Gold

Milt Gold is COB/President/CEO of Amital, which was founded in 1986. He is a native of Cherryville, NC.and a 1969 graduate of Wake Forest, where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. Gold is an Eagle Scout and has received the God and Country Award from the BSA. Prior to Amital, he held managerial and engineering positions with Burlington, Monsanto, and Stevens. Gold has served on the boards of the Committee of 100, Greater New Bern Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Craven Community College Foundation, Craven County EDC, Craven Regional Medical Center Foundation, and American Acrylic Council. He served on the Board of Trustees of Craven Community College, where he held two terms as chairman and the Board of NCCBI. Gold also served on the Mount Olive College Advisory Board. He more recently served as Chairman of the North Carolina Mfg’s Association and has served on the Board of Directors for CarolinaEast Health System. Previously he served on the State Advisory Committee for ENABLE, the State Advisory Committee for Management Curriculum Improvement for Community Colleges and the Board of Directors of AYSA. Gold has been included in the “Who’s Who” of American Business Executives, selected as Craven County’s Industrialist of the year by the Eastern North Carolina Chamber of Commerce, selected as Manager of the year by the Craven County Committee of 100, and presented the Chairman’s Leadership Award by the United Way. Amital was named “Business of the Year” for 1989, received the Governor’s Award for Waste Management in 1992, and received the 1994 Municipal Water Use Efficiency Award from the U.S. EPA. Gold has also served as honorary chairman of the American Cancer Society Golf Tournament. More recently, Gold served as chairman of the BSA Campaign for the Neuse River Basin and also was recognized by Textile World as one of the Top Ten Leaders Gold is married to the former Jennifer Dickert. They have two sons, a daughter and five grandchildren.
