ABOUT MILLICENT WENLOCK
Hello, I’m Millicent, an Environmental Science Honours Graduate from University of Stirling, focused on environmental policy and sustainability. I have received multiple honours and awards for my leadership and community service, such as winning the GROW Mentoring Social Mobility Advocate of the Year 2024, sponsored by Travers Smith.As a Sustainability Analyst at Strathendrick Biogas Ltd, a leading biogas energy provider in Scotland, I spearheaded a feasibility study for a new anaerobic digester project at RAF Machrihanish. This initiative aims to deliver sustainable energy solutions to over households and businesses in Campbeltown. Additionally, I forged a strategic partnership with a new resort development, aligning renewable energy infrastructure with regional growth and environmental goals.I am also the Co-Chair of the Student Advisory Board at Sustainable Recruitment Alliance, a network of over 90 leading organisations working to reduce their carbon footprint by 53.0 tCO2e from the 2019 baseline and improve sustainability in engaging and attracting early talent recruitment. In this role, I act as a spokesperson for young people and sustainability in recruitment. In November, I facilitated the Joined Up Summit for UK Youth as a Co-Producer for over 550 delegates on topics ranging from trauma-informed practices to youth participation. Earlier in the summer, I also spoke on the GTI Breakfast News student panel about social mobility and regional hiring to over 500 recruiters and early careers professionals, showcasing the importance of supporting underrepresented groups with support with early careers programs.I am also a published article author and podcast guest, adept at communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences and dedicated to fostering meaningful dialogue on pressing global challenges. I also actively engaged in community service as a Student Ambassador for the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES), where I presented a climate anxiety and optimism provocation at The Community for Environmental Disciplines in Higher Education Forum. In my spare time over the past year, I mentored 6 students with Zero Gravity and the University of Stirling Students\' Union.
