ABOUT MILI THAKUR
Hello and welcome! I am a highly skilled triple board certified reproductive endocrinologist, infertility speciality and medical geneticist with a passion for delivering excellent patient care. I am board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) by ABOG and medical genetics by ABMGG. As founder of Genome Ally, a telehealth genetics practice focussing on providing genetic consultation and testing to individuals and families on a family building journey, I specialize in genetics as it relates to family building especially prevention of genetic disease by in vitro fertilization with preimplantation genetic testing (PGT). I am currently licenced and see patients in 12 states in the United States: Michigan, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, Georgia, Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. Fluent in 3 languages: English, Hindi and PunjabiI have more than 20 years of medical experience and I worked in diverse settings. I did my first OBGYN residency at a busy tertiary care referral hospital in Chandigarh, India. As my first job, I developed women’s health division at a rural health center in a village outside of Chandigarh, successfully developing the labor and delivery suite and doing the first delivery there. In 2009, I moved to the US with my husband Manish, completing my second OBGYN residency in urban Detroit. Along with my mentors, Dr Gerald Feldman and Dr Elizabeth Puscheck, I was instrumental in developing and getting the dual Reproductive endocrinology and medical genetics fellowship approved by ABOG and ACMGG and was the first fellow to graduate from this unique fellowship.I joined The Fertility Center in Grand Rapids in 2017 and created the reproductive genetics program at The Fertility Center. I served as the director of the program for 5 years. I also developed the first oncofertility program in West Michigan. I currently work a couple of days a week at The Fertility Center, doing IVF procedures and surgeries of fertility patients. Rest of my professional time is dedicated to Genome Ally. As you can tell, creating and nurturing something that is unique and patient centered is my passion. Thank you for checking my profile! Hope to connect you in the future!
