ABOUT MILES ELIJAH GAMBLE
Miles Elijah Yawada Gamble is an urbanist, business developer, and policy manager for the City of New York. With a Master\'s degree in Urban Studies, Miles has worked to implement or sustain programs and organizations dedicated to creating pathways out of poverty and increasing access to economic opportunity for the historically disadvantaged. As a social media personality, he has worked with Black Entertainment Television on a national campaign to raise awareness of police violence and mass-incarceration. As an amateur documentarian, he has created films aimed at highlighting social issues in urban spaces. In 2018 his documentary on street art in East Harlem titled \"Crack Memorial\" was on-view at the McClung Museum for Natural History and Culture in Knoxville, Tennessee. Additionally, Miles has presented at numerous conferences, has guest lectured for several non-profit programs and institutions of higher learning, and chaired a panel on gentrification at the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association\'s Annual Conference. Over the last decade, Miles has participated in several public service initiatives, ranging from food stamps advocacy, to employment access for the formerly incarcerated. He was recently a recipient of the City of New York\'s Customer Service Award 2024 for his participation in the JobsNYC Hiring Hall initiative, connecting 8,500 job seekers to employment and training opportunities across the 5-boroughs. Miles is currently the Director of Employer Engagement at the Mayor\'s Office of Talent and Workforce Development and a member of the City of New York Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.
