About Miles Scherer
As a motivated student at Syracuse University, I\'m most interested in legal frameworks related to environmental and international law, conservation through commercialization, and climate change\'s effect on sovereignty. Upon the completion of my undergraduate career, I will have studied across four continents and am passionate about the importance of international education.My international work brought me to Madagascar in the beginning of 2025 where I had a strong focus on building sustainable, community-centered conservation models that reflect the essential balance between human inhabitants and wild spaces in some of the most ecologically fragile locations on the planet. In Washington, I am interning on Capitol Hill and taking classes with the Maxwell-in-DC program to gain a full understanding of the legislative and global decision-making process that informs humanity\'s approach to environmental issues. With my sights set on Santiago, Chile as my next international base, I hope to round out a Global South-Global North fluency and understanding of policy implementation globally. In short, the combination of a love for our natural world, an international perspective, and a desire to better the communities around me drives my diverse experience across continents.
