ABOUT MILES GABRIEL
Having been born overseas, growing up in a somewhat nomadic household living in countries like the Cook Islands, Solomon Islands, Seychelles, Botswana, Namibia and Oman, I developed a life-long love of geography, and earth’s varied environments and people.I now use this passion, and the geospatial, IT and business analysis skills I have developed, to work with organisations to understand their business requirements and consider how the geographic approach to problem solving can drive successful digital transformation. On a daily basis I work with Central Government bodies such as the Met Office, Valuation Office Agency, HMRC and HM Land Registry, helping them to develop their location intelligence to meet the needs of staff, customers and stakeholders through improved data services and analytics which lead to greater understanding and more accurate decision-making. For example: 1. Met Office are building upon the launch of their Climate Data Portal (https://climate-themetoffice.hub.arcgis.com/) to share trusted, local climate change information to help local authorities to visualise and adapt to climate challenges in their own areas: 2. Valuation Office Agency (VOA) recently won the Esri UK 2023 Customer Success Awards for Analytical Insights. The award recognises VOA\'s Business Systems Transformation team who are working to transform their use of location intelligence to help improve property valuations: https://lnkd.in/eA3ParPx3. UCL’s Virus Watch study, funded by UKRI & Dept H & SC, recruited thousands of volunteers to collect data using Esri’s location tracking software to help investigate the extent of Covid-19 community spread and how social distancing, and people\'s movements and use of public spaces, affect infection risk.If you would like help with your geospatial journey then please get in touch by emailing m•••••••@esriuk.com or connecting on LinkedIn.
