Provide strategic leadership towards the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of DEI Plan of Action • Establish goals and strategies for student and staff diversity, equity, and inclusion while also supporting values of independence, interdependence, and innovation • Participate in recruitment and retention efforts to attract, develop, motivate and retain a diverse faculty and staff • Develop and support a range of professional development training opportunities and experiences to meet the learning needs of faculty and staff • Partner with the Director of Admissions to help identify, recruit and retain a diverse student body • Advise Head of School on opportunities, practices, and tools for creating and maintaining more inclusive engagement with Board, faculty, staff, students, and families • Support and develop student diversity leadership, including, but not limited to supporting student-led and family-led affinity group spaces • Review materials (internal and external) to ensure they represent Beacon’s commitment to inclusion • Work with the Curriculum Committee and Faculty to review and ensure the curriculum represents Beacon’s commitment to inclusion • Serve as a subject matter expert who seeks to extend and incorporate subject matter expertise to other faculty and staff • Manage the faculty and assist with their professional development and lead new faculty orientation • Work closely with the Student Support Team, Director of College Counseling, and Dean of Students to ensure care for the whole student • Inspire others, using interpersonal skills, great communication, and purposeful meetings to unite the community around a common purpose • Teach or co-teach one class in an area of subject matter expertise each semester • Support the philosophy and mission of the School • Work with all levels of the organization from students to Board of Trustees • Maintain and manage sensitive and confidential school, student, parent, and employee information
