ABOUT MILA PAYMUKHINA

I’m a Computer Science & Psychology graduate (UofRochester \'24) passionate about creating technology for people & using it to solve global problems. ‍ I have experience in Full Stack (leaning BE) and AR/VR Development. I currently work as a Software Engineer at Netflix. Previously, I was a Lead AR/VR Developer on campus and spent two summers interning at Salesforce and Morgan Stanley as a Full Stack Developer, which allowed me to explore various aspects of the tech industry. I believe in the importance of diversity in the tech field. As a woman in STEM and a queer developer, I’m passionate about closing the gender gap and making the tech field more inclusive. I believe that it’s impossible to create technology for everyone without having a diverse team of developers. I’m honored to be participating in GHC \'23, 22 & ’21, LWT \'22, O4U \'23,\'22, ’21, and QWER HACKS ’21 to connect with more developers who value diversity and work for an inclusive future for the tech sector. It’s also important for me to make Computer Science more accessible and help people on their tech journey. In high school, I founded and hosted sessions for the Coding Club, during my time at UofR I volunteered as a CS tutor and worked as a Workshop Leader & TA for the Data Structures and Algorithms course. In my free time I enjoy climbing, sailing, going on hikes, skiing, playing badminton, playing the guitar & and dancing salsa and bachata :)
