Their production line is a complex system utilizing many intertwined technologies to track its products on the production line. One of the main systems is a collection of databases hosted on an outdated Linux server running MySQL. Focus was placed on creating a more modern and easier to scale and maintain platform and so migration from MySQL to SQL Server was considered as well as potential migration to AWS. A proof of concept SQL Server and migration process was developed and is being evaluated.Build, maintain and support new infrastructure for SCOM monitoring system, Power BI gateways as well as SQL Servers hosting other corporate databases-Implemented database maintenance jobs for backups, log recycling, history cleanup, etc-Built and configured Enterprise Gateways for Power BI to replace Personal Gateways and allow running on monitored and managed servers rather than personal computers. This also allows for automated scheduling of data refreshes-Automated MySQL backups and added these to scheduled jobs in cron to remove the need for manual backups
